PREVAIL is a clinical research study evaluating an investigational drug's safety and effectiveness in people with cardiovascular disease.
The study drug has been shown to lower cholesterol, specifically low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), known as the harmful or “bad” cholesterol, and lipoprotein (a), the horrible cholesterol.

Trial Overview:
• Take one tablet of the study drug or a placebo (no active ingredients) orally once daily.
• Continue taking your current medication to lower cholesterol during the study prescribed by your physician (if applicable).
Key Requirements:
• You have a history of cardiovascular disease, including a history of heart attack, stroke, peripheral artery disease, bypass surgery, or stent procedure of an artery to your heart, brain, or legs.
• You are 18 years of age or older and have an elevated “bad” cholesterol level equal or greater than 70 mg/dl.
• You are compliant with your currently prescribed cholesterol-lowering medication.

We are seeking patients who have had a history of a heart attack, stroke, or peripheral artery disease, who have undergone arterial stent procedures or bypass surgeries, or have been told they have arterial plaque as seen on a CT scan or ultrasound or who have lipid abnormalities (LDL > 55 mg/dl, or triglycerides > 150 mg/dl or lipoprotein (a) levels > 90 mg/dl or 150 nmol/l) or evidence of inflammation with a test called hsCRP > 2 mg/L.
